On(?) the Bus

Riding the bus used to be a social thing, right?

Used to.

It seems like nowadays the bus is packed full of people, with minds that are everywhere but on the bus:

The woman checking emails on her way to work.
The man listening to a live podcast recorded abroad.
The kids talking to their friends, who are coincidentally on other buses going to the same school.

Maybe it is good thing. Maybe our commutes are no longer “wasted” on simply transportation.

Or maybe we are missing out on more than we could image.
